LOCATION: Kingsburg is a traditional fishing village dating back to 1754, located 18 minutes south of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to two surf beaches, 7 hiking trails, three swimming ponds and three headlands including the Nature Conservancy’s Gaff Point. With its hills overlooking the Atlantic coastline dropping into the ocean, the greater Kingsburg ecosystem is among Nova Scotia’s richest biodiversity zones with several species of whales, regular sightings of dolphins, bald eagles, ospreys and a resident golden eagle among the 50 species of birds.
The Town of Lunenburg is famous for its tall ships, colourful houses, restaurants, galleries, music and folk art festival. Kingsburg is 80 minutes to Halifax and 90 minutes to the Halifax International Airport: It is a 1 hour and 45 minute flight from New York City; and a 2 hour flight from Toronto.
